I am very grateful to be a graduate of Naropa University, where I received training in many Eastern and less mainstream psychological approaches that continue to inform my work as a therapist. Early in my career, I worked extensively in inner-city settings with marginalized and disadvantaged youth and families, focusing on skill-building, empowerment, and resilience. I later began traveling abroad to deepen my cultural awareness and expand my perspective as a clinician.
My approach has been influenced by years of contemplative practice, including Buddhist meditation and living and studying in Central and South America. These experiences inform my respect for embodiment, mindfulness, and cultural humility.
